Brent Street’s success can be attributed to its team of industry experts, quality choreographers and teachers, constantly producing the country’s best performing artists.
With a resident staff list like no other, students will be trained by working choreographers, creatives, performers and directors. Our teaching staff, while in-demand in their work across Sydney and the rest of the country, continually prove dedication to and passion for Brent Street over any other training facility.

Lucas Newland
Owner, Managing & Creative Director
A man on a mission, Lucas Newland fearlessly drives innovation in Performing Arts and Creative works. During his decades of performance and choreographic success, he’s effortlessly moved between work in live theatre, film, television, corporate events and more – earning him the reputation of a versatile, pioneering and fearless creative.
Notably, his choreographic works include the Australian Production of Green Day’s “American Idiot”, “L’Hotel” for the Sydney Opera House, “Velvet” International Tour featuring Marcia Hines & for Norwegian Cruise Lines, “Absinthe” for Speigelworld at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, (Winner of “Best Show in Vegas”), “Vegas Nocturne – Rose.Rabbit.Lie” at the Cosmopolitan Hotel and “Pigalle” for Sydney Festival. In film and television, he has choreographed and directed movement for campaigns including Masterchef, Big Brother, Celebrity Apprentice, Australia’s Got Talent, Next Top Model, Live to Dance and the Nescafe TVC featuring Ricky Martin.
Starting with Brent Street as a teenager in their children’s talent agency, his decades of personal connection to the brand drives him to continue its thriving legacy. Since taking the helm in 2015 as Owner and Managing & Creative Director, he’s embarked on a mission to educate, train and nurture the future stars of the Australian Performing Arts landscape. With his global experience and network of industry personnel, his vision and design for Brent Street and its students is simply unmatched; untouchable and inaccessible by any other institution in the country.
Driven to generate opportunity and a flourishing industry for the next generation, Lucas has just begun his journey as an investor in theatrical productions, with new works set to open on Broadway and West End in the coming year. Back on home turf, Lucas has created the Brent Street Artist Fund, a $20,000 grant to new works by Australian Performing Artists, in addition to over $100,000 personally-paid scholarships and bursaries to Brent Street students each year.
With immediate access to the best coaches, mentors and facilities in the country Lucas brings a fresh, dynamic approach to artist management in his two talent agencies, Focus Talent Management and Brent Street Agency.
