Established over three decades ago, our Performing Arts course was the first of its kind in Australia. Recognised across the globe for unmatched, intensive training in commercial dance, the Performing Arts course is our flagship offering. Now expanded to a two year, Advanced Diploma course, we’re giving our students the best possible chance at succeeding in our ever-changing and highly competitve workforce. Whether it’s film, television, world tours or musical theatre, there is hardly a facet of performing arts that doesn’t feature a Brent Street Performing Arts graduate!

With a mission to create industry-ready professionals, Performing Arts students take classes in jazz, commercial jazz, musical theatre, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, classical ballet, tap, latin, heels, fitness, conditioning, technique, singing and acting. In addition to these standard classes, students also experience audition technique, hair & makeup, improvisation and social media classes throughout the year. As an Advanced Diploma course, students are required to complete a wide variety of theory work based around analysis, evaluation and reflection. The combination of practical and theoretical classes makes for an all-round, business minded performer with longevity on their horizon.

Make no mistake – there’s no magic wand that transforms the dancer during this course. Students should expect two years that are challenging, both physically and mentally. Rather than two identical years back-to-back, the course structure offers an arc with opportunities, performances, and featured roles in our graduation showcase weighted to those in their second year.
