A nationally recognised qualification, the CUA50113 Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) focusing on Contemporary dance is a full time, one-year intensive program created to prepare the aspiring contemporary dancer to enter the professional dance industry.
This course is technically diverse and designed to respond to the needs of contemporary dancers and dance-makers working in the world today. The course has a handpicked faculty of international stature sourced from Rambert, Royal Ballet, NDT, Julliard, Bourne, Australian Ballet, Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company 2, SDC, DirtyFeet, Queensland Ballet and LINES Ballet in the US. Their combined skills and mentor-ship offer students a vibrant, stimulating learning experience of the very highest standard and prepare dancers who work, or aspire to work in professional contemporary dance companies.
Students are trained at a high level across a range of internationally recognised contemporary techniques. Including, but not limited to Commercial, Lyrical, Graham, Horton, Bourne, Release, Cunningham, Floor, Contact, Composition and Improvisation, with a minimum of three hours technique class or repertoire each day. The course is designed to produce versatile and employable dancers incorporating technical and commercial contemporary alongside hip hop, classical ballet, strength conditioning and jazz technique.
